The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join a growing industrial manufacturing site operating within the sustainable construction materials sector. This is a practical engineering role where you will be responsible for keeping heavy process plant running efficiently through planned maintenance, reactive breakdown repairs and continuous improvement. The role is heavily mechanically biased and would suit someone who enjoys working on large industrial machinery rather than highly automated production equipment. If you have strong experience working on conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulics and rotating equipment, we would like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across the site’s mechanical plant.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
  • Strip down, inspect, repair and rebuild industrial gearboxes.
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems including rollers, bearings, drives, tracking systems and motors.
