Our client based in Newmarket is looking to hire an Electrical Design Engineer to join its expanding team. As an Electrical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing control panels and switchgear to meet customers' specific requirements, ensuring compliance with legislative and safety standards.
  • Anticipating future legislation and advising customers on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements.
  • Producing high-quality manufacturing data, including schematic and layout drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Creating reports such as bills of materials and test procedures.
  • Specifying and selecting electrical components for UK, EU, and International applications.
  • Participating in design and quality reviews for new and existing products.
  • Collaborating with the applications and sales, production, and quality teams, providing technical support and guidance as needed.
  • Contributing to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues and recommending options and courses of action.
  • Implementing directives to drive change within the team.

To be considered for this Electrical Design Engineer role, you will need the following:

  • Experience in the design of control panels and low-voltage distribution boards/switchboards.
  • AutoCAD Electrical proficient.
  • Experience in interpreting different technical schematics and report formats, including electrical and mechanical.
