The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation developing cutting-edge electronic products for demanding applications.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development and verification of high-performance electronic hardware throughout the full product lifecycle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working on innovative products from concept through to production.
The Role
As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for
- Designing high-speed digital electronic hardware and supporting analogue circuit simulation.
- Developing board-level electronic designs from system requirements.
- Producing schematic capture and multilayer PCB designs using industry-standard CAD tools such as Altium or Or CAD.
- Supporting FPGA-based hardware developments, with exposure to VHDL or Embedded C considered advantageous.
- Performing hardware verification, validation and testing of electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Producing technical documentation including test specifications, design reports and circuit descriptions.
- Supporting existing products through investigation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
- Working closely with manufacturing to introduce robust hardware test solutions into production.
- Participating in design reviews, configuration control activities and technical risk assessments.
- Supporting component selection and lifecycle management, including obsolescence planning.
- Contributing throughout the complete product development lifecycle from initial concept through to release and ongoing product support.
- Occasionally travelling within the UK to support project activities.
About You
We're looking for an engineer with a strong background in electronic hardware design who enjoys working on technically challenging projects.
- You’ll ideally have experience with
- High-speed digital electronics.
- Analogue circuit design and simulation.
- Multilayer PCB design, layout and signal integrity.
- Electronic schematic capture using Altium Designer, Or CAD or similar CAD tools.
- Hardware verification and test.
- FPGA technologies and VHDL (desirable).
- Embedded C programming (desirable).
- MATLAB or similar engineering tools.
- Automated test or scripting for hardware configuration.
- RF hardware or communications systems (desirable).
- Product development from concept through to manufacture.

- Degree (or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
