We are currently recruiting for experienced Contract Automation / Controls Engineers to support ongoing industrial automation projects across the UK. Our client is looking for engineers with a strong background in PLC commissioning, fault finding and site-based automation, ideally with experience working on TGW or similar warehouse automation/intralogistics systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on automation professional with Siemens TIA Portal experience who enjoys working on complex automated systems and supporting customer sites through installation, commissioning and optimisation phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning and fault-finding automated industrial systems on customer sites
- Supporting installation, integration and testing of automation equipment
- PLC diagnostics, modifications and troubleshooting using Siemens TIA Portal
- Working with HMIs, drives, sensors and industrial communication networks
- Identifying and resolving electrical and controls-related issues
- Supporting SAT activities and ensuring systems are delivered successfully
- Working closely with engineering teams, customers and installation partners
Required Experience:
- Proven experience as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, PLC Engineer or Commissioning Engineer
- Strong Siemens PLC / TIA Portal experience
- Previous experience working on automated machinery or industrial control systems
- Experience with commissioning, installation and site support
- Ability to fault-find electrical and controls systems
- Experience within warehouse automation, intralogistics, manufacturing automation or similar environments is highly desirable
Required Qualifications:
- ECS or CSCS card required
- IPAF qualification required
- Willingness to work site-based shifts and travel when required
