Job Description CNC Setter/Operator β Night shift
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4pm β 4am
Salary: Up to Β£20 per hour
Location: Thetford
TEC Partners are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a growing precision engineering company based in Thetford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist looking to join a stable and well-established manufacturing environment with long-term career prospects.
The Role
The position will involve setting and operating CNC Turning machines to manufacture precision engineered components to customer specifications and engineering drawings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Setting and operating CNC Turning Centres
- Tooling selection and machine set-up
- Adjusting offsets and machine parameters
- Producing components to tight tolerances
- Performing quality inspection checks
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Supporting continuous production output
- Maintaining health & safety standards within the workshop
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Operator
- CNC Turning / Lathe experience
- Experience with Fanuc, Siemens or Mitsubishi controls
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers
- Experience working within a manufacturing or production environment
Desirable Experience
- DMG MORI or Citizen machinery
- Multi-axis turning
- Live tooling
- Minor program editing
- Continuous improvement / production optimisation experience
