An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Assembly Engineer to support the development and build of a prototype utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) using second-life EV batteries. This role is hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, project-driven environment. The successful candidate will have experience in panel building, system integration, and LV testing, and will play a key part in a cross-functional engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble electrical sub-assemblies and control panels from engineering drawings and documentation
- Route, secure and terminate wiring looms and harnesses across enclosures and systems
- Install both electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies, including heavy industrial components
- Assist in offline and live system testing, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards
- Troubleshoot and resolve faults, providing feedback for design improvement
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to support successful integration and commissioning
- Manage stock and selection of components during assembly
- Maintain clear and accurate records in line with quality assurance processes
- Operate safely in a shared workshop, including using forklifts or acting as a banksman if required

- Familiar with quality inspection processes and documentation
Desirable Qualifications:
- Level 2 or higher in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in a production, industrial, or R&D environment
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and basic mechanical assembly practices
Additional Information:
- PPE and tooling can be provided if required
