Maintenance Engineer
Location: Shropham
Shift Pattern: 2-Week Rotating Shift Pattern
- Week 1: Monday to Friday – 05:00 to 15:00
- Week 2: Monday to Friday – 16:00 to 02:00
Salary: £45,000 + Shift allowance
The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced food manufacturing environment within the poultry processing and packaging sector. This is a hands-on role responsible for responding to production breakdowns, carrying out planned preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement across a wide range of automated processing and packaging machinery. Equipment includes conveyors, tray transport systems, plucking and evisceration machinery, tray sealers, flow wrappers, vacuum sealers, and associated production equipment. The successful candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills and be comfortable working in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond quickly and effectively to machinery breakdowns
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
- Support production teams to minimise downtime
- Work safely in line with all Health & Safety procedures
- Carry out general maintenance, servicing, and lubrication tasks
- Assist with engineering projects and equipment modifications
- Diagnose faults on PLC-controlled systems
- Read and interpret engineering and schematic drawings
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Level 3 qualification in Engineering or Electrical or Mechanical
- Multi-skilled engineering background
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability
- Welding experience (MIG / TIG / ARC)
- Ability to read schematic drawings
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
- Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
Desirable
- PLC fault-finding experience
- CMMS experience

- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Organised with strong attention to detail
