As Senior Project Manager – Software Delivery, you will be responsible for leading the full lifecycle delivery of complex software projects, working with distributed teams across Business Analysis, Consulting, Engineering, and external partners. You will ensure successful delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to a consistently high standard of quality, while maintaining strong governance, stakeholder engagement, and client satisfaction throughout.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end project initiation including mandates, resource planning, kick-off sessions, and delivery planning.
- Own project scope, timelines, budgets (up to £2m), risks, dependencies, and quality assurance.
- Ensure robust project governance including change control, RAID management, financial reporting, and status reporting.
- Lead senior stakeholder engagement, including steering groups and executive-level communications.
- Manage delivery across multi-disciplinary teams operating across multiple geographies and time zones.
- Oversee internal delivery checkpoints, milestones, and release management processes.
- Coordinate with third-party suppliers to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of external dependencies.
- Proactively manage escalations, risks, and issues through to resolution.
- Work closely with Service Delivery teams to ensure ongoing support and service excellence.
- Provide line management support to Business Analysts where required, including objective setting and performance reviews.
- Maintain alignment between delivery teams and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop understanding of complex software products and client requirements to improve delivery outcomes.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering complex enterprise software implementations.
- Track record managing project budgets up to circa £2m.
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
- Confident managing internal teams and external enterprise stakeholders.
- Experience working across distributed, multi-timezone delivery environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with exposure to senior-level engagement.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to client sites when required.
