The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
It all starts in our kitchens, where you are responsible for preparing fresh local ingredients to produce and present our own dishes just as you would make at home. You will be central in delivering a smooth kitchen service, working with your team to ensure our schedules are met, high standards maintained and taking every care to create good-looking and great tasting food to supply throughout our business.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation and planning: Working with your team leader you will set out the day ensuring ingredients are prepared and ready to cook in adequate quantities.
- Cooking: Following our seasonal recipes, you will cook our dishes to specification, checking levels and demand to ensure we fulfil orders on time.
- Presentation: Taking care and attention you will finish and present products to consistently high standards ensuring exceptional quality and taste to deliver the best food experience for our customers.
- Food hygiene: Responsible for the food hygiene systems you will ensure the kitchen is compliant to deliver the best quality dishes and complete all relevant company records and HACCP paperwork.
- Kitchen maintenance: You will maintain a clean, tidy and safe kitchen, willing to scrub in and wash-up whenever needed to ensure an excellent working environment.
- Customer interaction: Offer up to date knowledge and advice on all our food to customers and colleagues, to help maximise the full sales potential from the food counters to delight our customers.
- Communication: Communicate and escalate any product issues or concerns to your team leader to help keep the flow of delicious food available.
- Learning: Embrace learning! You will undertake any further training required, whether refreshing your knowledge or developing your skills.
- Coaching: Share your knowledge to get the best out of your team. You will help coach and train new colleagues and communicate new menu launches and changes to other kitchen teams.
- Teamwork: Work together with the larger catering team, using flexibility and your initiative to change your own activities to meet different circumstances.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a chef or cook is essential and ideally you will be able to demonstrate experience in a high volume and fast paced environment.
