Working alongside managers and service leaders you will provide training and support for new and existing colleagues to ensure we are consistently delivering brand standards in our offer and exceptional service to our customers. When you are not busy training you will work alongside your team in your role as a colleague; serving customers, working on the tills, stocking products and carrying out similar duties.
Responsibilities
- Training and developing all new colleagues on the job as part of their induction, ensuring they have the best first experience with Westmorland and understand who we are and “how we do business”.
- Providing training and support for existing colleagues as guided by your Manager.
- Supporting on the job experiences on site to ensure we are recruiting the best colleagues.
- Checking all brand standards as well as observing other colleagues’ behaviours to ensure it fits with our expectations.
- Identifying any gaps in training and making suitable training plans where appropriate.
- Training in any brand or department changes e.g. new products or new recipes.
- Supporting the People Team with the delivery of any new training initiatives.
- Supporting your Department Manager to ensure that colleagues are completing their e-learning on time.
As this role will support colleagues who work across our full trading hours, you will need the flexibility to ensure you are on hand to share your expertise as the business requires it, whether those colleagues work during the day, at night or at weekends. You will be a natural people person, with strong communication and organisational skills. You must be passionate about the business and training and coaching others to be the best they can be. Experience in a similar role or having experience training and developing colleagues as part of another role would be an advantage, but is not essential. Most importantly you will have the ability to train and develop others and a passion for delivering excellent standards.
