Teasses Estate – 1,100-acre Sporting & Organic Farming Estate, North East Fife.

Organic Livestock: Beef & Lamb | 100 acres Organic Oats & Barley

Background: Teasses is a family-owned and operated private estate in North-East Fife, recognised for producing high-quality organic meat from our closed organic beef herd of around 400 Aberdeen Angus × Simmental × Shorthorn cattle, established in 2006. Our expanding Innovis sheep enterprise also delivers premium organic lamb direct to abattoir. The Estate features a well-established driven pheasant shoot, hosts events and open days, offers self-catering accommodation, and includes extensive organically managed gardens surrounding the Main House. Teasses has earned multiple awards for conservation, garden excellence, and progressive farming practices, including recognition as an Organic Success Story by the Farm Advisory Service (2025) and Best Rural & Outdoor Events Venue – Fife at the 2025 Scottish Enterprise Awards. We aim to build on these achievements by continually improving quality, animal welfare, and operational efficiency across all farming enterprises.

The Role: We are seeking an experienced, practical and hands-on Farm Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the farm. This is not an office-based role and will suit an experienced stockperson looking to progress their career. Working closely with a part-time assistant and the Estate Factor, you will lead the operational delivery of the farm while contributing to long-term strategy and wider estate development. We are looking for someone who leads by example, is ambitious about developing our farming enterprises, and is passionate about animal welfare, organic principles, and teamwork.

We Are Looking For:

  • Strong knowledge of livestock husbandry and cropping systems
  • Proven experience managing or supervising a farm operation
  • Physical fitness and capability to fulfil a fully hands-on role
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence when engaging with the public and Estate Board
  • A driven, energetic and curious approach to work

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily livestock management, including stock checks, bedding, feeding and mucking out
  • Indoor spring calving and outdoor spring lambing
  • Animal husbandry, including treatment and proactive identification of welfare issues
  • Livestock weighing, performance monitoring and data collection
  • Basic machinery maintenance and repair
  • Oversight of all cropping and livestock operations
  • Ensuring best-practice health and safety across the farm
  • Compliance and record keeping, including thorough understanding of Organic Standards
  • Contribution to infrastructure development and estate projects
  • Understanding of farm finances, budgeting and reporting
  • Working with the Events Manager to support the development of agritourism initiatives.

The Offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Four-bedroom farmhouse provided (council tax paid)

Applications close 8th February with interviews on the Estate shortly after. A six week handover period with our out-going Farm Manager is desirable.
