The position is a 6 on 3 off rota, on a 24 hour callout from home basis.

Tears of Sutton Bridge provides a specialist recovery service from their depots in King’s Lynn, Spalding and Sutton Bridge and pride themselves on their excellent customer service and reputation. For the past 30 years they have made a continued commitment to develop and update a comprehensive fleet of recovery vehicles making them one of the biggest in the area.

Who are we looking for?

Due to exciting commercial success and growth a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Roadside / Recovery Technician to join our well respected company to cover the Wisbech area on a 24/7 call out basis. The post holder will be working from home.

  • Due to this role being home based you must have the faculties to keep the recovery vehicle or van at home.

What will you be doing?

Your role will be attending broken down vehicles and carrying out roadside diagnostics and repair, the ideal candidate will have strong motor vehicle repair knowledge and have a good problem solving mind-set to effect temporary repairs where required.

Some of the repairs you can expect to see are:

  • wheel changes
  • jump starts and battery / alternator testing
  • investigating engine management faults
  • brake pad replacements
  • fitting fan belts
  • replacing bulbs / lamps
  • diagnosing and replacing coil packs
  • effecting temporary repairs to assist vehicles to a place of safety
  • other general roadside repairs

The successful candidate will be provided with your own service van, the service van will also have an RDT (rapid deployment trailer) for recovering vehicles that cannot be fixed, and therefore experience towing a trailer would be an advantage although towing training could be arranged.

We do require the successful candidate to undergo and pass an enhanced DBS check.
