Who are we?
Tears of Sutton Bridge provides a specialist recovery service from their depots in King’s Lynn, Spalding and Sutton Bridge and pride themselves on their excellent customer service and reputation. For the past 30 years they have made a continued commitment to develop and update a comprehensive fleet of recovery vehicles making them one of the biggest in the area.
Who are we looking for?
Due to increasing work volumes and internal progression, we currently have positions available for HGV Class 1 or HGV Class 2 recovery drivers to join this well respected company recovering a range of vehicles across the UK. The successful candidate will be a committed and incredibly hard working individual who is naturally affable and able to maintain a good level of customer service. You will be expected to be presentable at all times and uphold a ‘can-do’ attitude.
What will you be doing?
- Receiving jobs either over the phone or on a PDA
- Driving a rigid vehicle recovering cars, vans and plant equipment
- Attending broken down vehicles or road traffic accidents
- Depending on experience, applicant may complete some roadside repairs
- Moving vehicle and taking customer where they need to go
- Accurately completing paperwork, job sheets and condition reports on arrival
What do you need?
- A HGV Class 1 or Class 2 driving licence is essential
- Recovery driving experience is advantageous but not essential
- Mechanical knowledge and qualifications are also desirable but not a requirement
- A presentable and tidy appearance
- Good customer service skills
- Happy to undertake an enhanced Police/ DBS check (this is contractual requirement by the Police force due to the nature of contracted work undertaken)

Location: Spalding
Salary: £37,000 - £38,000 per year
Hours: 4 Week fixed shift pattern 6 on 3 off
Week 1: 6am – 7pm
Week 2: 8am – 9pm
Week 3: 9am - 10pm
Week 4: 12pm – 1am
(The role involves keeping a rigid truck at your house as you will be ‘on call from home’. There may be occasions where your first job comes in after you start your shift. E.g. you are on the week 1 shift pattern although you are paid from 6am, your first job may come in at 8am. You are not required to sit at the depot waiting for jobs to come through)
