A leading, global, private equity-backed organisation within the industrial sector is seeking a commercially focused Financial Controller with clear progression to Finance Director for the right individual. This is a highly visible and influential role, partnering closely with operational leaders to drive performance, improve profitability, and support sustainable growth across a portfolio of multi-site business units.

The Role

  • Lead financial reporting across multiple business units (daily, weekly, monthly, annual)
  • Act as a key business partner to General Managers, providing insight and strategic guidance
  • Drive commercial initiatives, including pricing, margin improvement, and cost control
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance, and balance sheet integrity
  • Improve cash flow and working capital performance
  • Lead process improvements and promote operational excellence
  • Manage and develop a direct report

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • At least 3–5 years’ post-qualified experience
  • Strong background in multi-site or multi-entity environments
  • Commercially astute with excellent business partnering skills
  • Proactive, hands-on, and confident in influencing senior stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel skills (experience with Hyperion advantageous)
  • Experience improving processes and internal controls
  • Home-based, ideal location would be near a motorway network M42, M40 or M1, but must be willing to travel across the UK & Ireland 50% of the week.
