I'm Rich Byrne, EMEA Commercial Director, Player ID at Teamworks. Over the past ten years, we've built an advanced analytics platform for football recruitment that ingests player data through models we believe are more mature than anything else currently in the market, and we're investing heavily right now in improving the experience clubs get when they use it. The past 18 months have brought some of the biggest brands in the game onto the platform, and that momentum has created real opportunity across Europe and the Middle East. I'm looking for someone to help me capitalize on it.
The Role
- Own commercial relationships from the top down, engaging owners, chief executives, and sporting directors to align strategically before engaging with other key stakeholders in the organization.
- Build and progress pipeline through consultative selling, learning what a club is trying to achieve in the short and long term before positioning how Player ID can significantly help the club succeed.
- Multi-thread across senior stakeholders within target organizations to understand and align competing priorities.
- Drive deals from first conversation through to close, owning the full commercial cycle.
- Partner with our Marketing and Business Development teams to sharpen outreach and identify priority accounts.
- Represent Player ID at industry events and in-market meetings primarily across Europe and the Middle East, building the relationships that create new opportunities.
What I'm Looking For
What You Must Bring
- Fluent English, spoken and written, as this role works across markets and stakeholder groups where English is the operating language.
- Proven experience building, progressing, and closing commercial pipeline end to end, or closing opportunities that others have created.
- Demonstrated experience selling at the top of an organization, to owners, C-suite, or senior leadership, rather than starting conversations lower down.
- A working understanding of the metrics used in player recruitment analytics and how they influence scouting and shortlisting decisions, though deep model or data science expertise isn't required.
- A genuinely hands-on approach: this role requires regular travel, in-person relationship building, and a willingness to do that work personally rather than delegate it.
Even Better If
- You speak an additional European language, particularly French, Spanish, or Italian.
- You have prior exposure to recruitment analytics or scouting technology in football.
Why This Role
Advanced analytics in player recruitment is still an emerging category, and we believe our models give us a real edge after a decade of development. You'd be stepping into a market with genuine momentum behind it, several major brand wins already secured, and real room to build your own book of business across some of the most competitive football markets in the world.
This role is not eligible for sponsorship at this time.
