We are looking for an ambitious and results-driven Department Manager to join a team at Chichester Food Park. Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, you will lead a team of Manufacturing and Production Operatives, ensuring your department operates efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop your team to deliver high-quality products on time and to specification.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance culture through strong, inspirational leadership.
  • Manage operational challenges including seasonal fluctuations and raw material variability.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and encourage innovation within your team.
  • Deliver against KPIs while maintaining GMP standards, food safety compliance, and health & safety regulations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Technical, Engineering, Hygiene, Logistics, Health & Safety, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Identify and report any signs of modern slavery in line with company policy.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience managing teams within Food Manufacturing, FMCG, or a similar factory environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage a complex workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective decision-maker with strong prioritisation skills.
  • Resilient and adaptable, able to lead confidently through change and operational pressure.

Our Client operates a rotational shift pattern covering 7am to 7pm both days and nights. You will work a total of 14 days over a 28-day period. Typically, you would be working as follows:

  • Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
  • Week 2 - Wednesday & Thursday.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent.
