A Nottingham mainstream primary is looking for a compassionate and strategic SEN Teacher to strengthen SEND provision from January 2026. The SEN Teacher will be pivotal in designing interventions, supporting inclusion and improving outcomes.
Role purpose: The SEN Teacher will coordinate and deliver targeted support, work with class teachers to adapt the curriculum and liaise with parents and external agencies. The post is ideal for an experienced SEN Teacher who understands statutory processes and combines empathy with clear, structured interventions.
- Assess and plan targeted interventions.
- Support and coach class teachers to adapt lessons.
- Lead EHCP reviews and multi-agency meetings.
- Monitor progress, keep accurate records and report to governors.
The SEN Teacher will prepare paperwork prior to January 2026, take part in induction in January 2026, and start delivering interventions from January 2026.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification and experience in SEND provision; accreditation (NASENCO or working towards) is desirable.
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and experience of delivering interventions.
- Availability for pre-term planning prior to January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to take up the role from January 2026.
