You would be working in a successful Social Sciences department teaching Sociology at GCSE and A-Level. The department is highly regarded within the school and has a strong record of excellent academic outcomes and student engagement. Students are encouraged to develop analytical thinking, research skills and evaluative writing through a broad and engaging curriculum covering education, crime and deviance, culture, identity and social inequality. Lessons are discussion-based and designed to encourage independent thinking and intellectual curiosity. The department works collaboratively to deliver high-quality lessons and provide targeted support to students across all ability levels. Teachers are encouraged to innovate within the classroom and contribute positively to enrichment opportunities and wider school life.
