Role overview - Nursery Teacher

As Nursery Teacher you will design engaging continuous provision that promotes communication, physical development and early number recognition. The Nursery Teacher will deliver short adult-led sessions, support language through songs and stories, and coordinate with parents and SEN staff to ensure each child thrives. The Nursery Teacher will be central to transition planning into Reception and will be involved in professional development starting January 2026.

Nursery Teacher Responsibilities

  • Create and manage stimulating indoor and outdoor provision as the Nursery Teacher.
  • Lead short, focused activities that support early language and physical development as the Nursery Teacher.
  • Monitor progress, keep concise records and share next steps with families as the Nursery Teacher.
  • Prepare resources and attend induction before and during January 2026, then teach from January 2026.

Nursery Teacher Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Nursery Teacher (QTS/EYTS or equivalent) with strong early years practice and excellent interpersonal skills. The Nursery Teacher must be available for pre-term planning prior to January 2026, for induction in January 2026, and to begin teaching from January 2026. Experience of working with two-year-olds and three-year-olds is desirable for the Nursery Teacher.
