A successful, ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Hackney is looking to appoint a dedicated Finance Officer to join its experienced business support team on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

The Finance Officer will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day financial operation of the school, working closely with senior leaders, budget holders and the wider administrative team to maintain high standards of financial accuracy, compliance and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be entrusted with significant responsibility and will contribute to the effective management of the school’s finances, supporting both operational and strategic financial processes.
Key responsibilities

Process purchase orders, invoices, supplier payments and account reconciliations

Monitor departmental budgets and track expenditure across the school

Support financial reporting, month-end procedures and audit preparation

Liaise with senior leaders, budget holders and external suppliers

Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring compliance with school policies and financial regulations

Assist with procurement and the efficient management of purchasing processes
