The Role
The successful ECT of English will assume responsibility for teaching English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4 (GCSE), preparing pupils for strong outcomes. You will immediately join a supportive and collaborative department, benefiting from daily shared planning and team teaching opportunities to accelerate your development as an ECT of English. The ECT of English will be central to the school's commitment to improving literacy across all year groups, working with dedicated literacy leads. This permanent opportunity offers a strong foundation for the career of a talented ECT of English seeking immediate employment. As a core subject specialist, the ECT of English will have access to high-quality, evidence-based CPD and coaching sessions. The school requires the ECT of English to contribute to after-school revision or enrichment sessions to support pupil progress. You must be ready to assume the full professional responsibilities of the role from day one as the ECT of English. The appointed ECT of English will mentor students and act as a dedicated form tutor.
