We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented School Administrator to join a high-performing secondary academy. In this role, you will be the engine room of the school’s operations, providing the senior-level administrative support required to ensure the academic and pastoral success of a large student body.

The Role & Department

You will be a senior member of the school’s support staff team, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the School Business Manager. This role moves beyond basic clerical work, involving the management of complex data sets, statutory reporting, and the coordination of large-scale school events. You will operate in a professional, fast-paced office environment where accuracy and the ability to work under pressure are essential. The academy provides a structured career path with access to advanced training in educational management and school leadership support.

Core Responsibilities

  • Management Information Systems (MIS): Taking a lead role in managing student data on systems such as SIMS, Arbor, or Bromcom, ensuring that the school is compliant with the Department for Education (DfE) census requirements.
  • Exams & Assessment Support: Assisting the Exams Officer with the administration of GCSE and A-Level examinations, including the coordination of invigilators and the secure handling of papers.
  • Personnel & HR Admin: Maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR), coordinating staff recruitment documentation, and managing confidential personnel files in line with GDPR and safeguarding standards.
  • Communications Management: Overseeing the school’s external communications strategy, including the management of the website, social media, and high-level correspondence with parents and local authorities.
  • Operational Logistics: Coordinating major school events such as Open Evenings, Awards Ceremonies, and Transition Days, managing everything from room bookings to external catering.

The Successful Candidate

We are looking for a career administrator who thrives on systems and efficiency. Requirements include:

  • Experience: Significant experience in a secondary school office or a senior administrative role is essential.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel for data analysis) and significant experience with school MIS software.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: A firm grasp of the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) framework and its application within school administration and recruitment.
  • Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with absolute discretion and integrity.
