The school is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Officer to support the daily running of the school’s HR function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing recruitment cycles: advertising roles, processing applications, arranging interviews, issuing contracts
  • Overseeing onboarding, DBS checks, Right-to-Work verification, referee checks, and safeguarding compliance
  • Maintaining the Single Central Record (SCR) to statutory standards
  • Coordinating induction for new staff, including CPD and mandatory training
  • Maintaining accurate personnel files and HR systems
  • Supporting payroll processing and staff absence management
  • Advising staff on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters
  • Ensuring compliance with KCSIE, statutory guidelines, and employment law
  • Coordinating appraisals, performance reviews, and probation processes
  • Supporting wellbeing initiatives and staff engagement
  • Producing HR reports and data analysis for SLT and governors

This role requires excellent professionalism, strong communication, and high levels of accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Previous HR experience (school experience desirable but not essential)
  • Strong understanding of HR processes, safeguarding, and compliance
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficient in HR systems, Excel, and administrative processes
  • CIPD Level 3 or above (desirable)
