Temporary Receptionist

Location: Alton, Hampshire
Hours: 08:00 – 16:00 (37.5 hours/week, 30-minute unpaid break)
Pay: £12.50 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors, complete paperwork and ID verification, offer refreshments, and notify staff of arrivals.
  • Maintain a tidy and welcoming reception area.
  • Handle incoming calls, assist with enquiries, redirect calls, take messages, and follow up as needed.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and courier deliveries, notifying relevant staff.
  • Check admin/account inbox daily and respond as needed.
  • Research and price items from suppliers, raising purchase orders once approved.
  • Support the Finance team with purchase orders, receipts, reporting, and data reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems, both paper and electronic.
  • Assist various teams with clerical tasks, including printing, photocopying, and filing.
  • Prepare purchases for site visits, including food and refreshments.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks to support business needs.

Qualifications

  • Organised, detail-oriented, and professional.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience in reception or administrative support is desirable.
  • IT literate and comfortable using standard office software.
