We're working with a well-established and growing engineering manufacturer to recruit a Design Engineer who enjoys taking ideas from concept through to production. Responsibilities as Design Engineer:
- Designing and developing new and existing mechanical products using SolidWorks.
- Taking projects from concept through prototyping, testing and into production.
- Improving existing designs for performance, quality, manufacturability and cost.
- Producing 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Purchasing and Project teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Carrying out design calculations and technical validation where required.
Qualifications and Experience as Design Engineer:
- Previous experience in a Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer position within manufacturing.
- Strong SolidWorks experience.
- Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical engineering background.
- Experience designing machined, cast or moulded components.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
Preferred Skills you will also have as Design Engineer:
- Experience with APQP, PPAP or Design & Process FMEA.
