A well-established local engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit Electrical Technicians to join its growing production team. This position would suit someone with experience in cable assembly or wiring who is detail-focused and comfortable working to industry standards.

The Role as Electrical Technician

  • You will be responsible for the assembly of cable harnesses and looms to a high standard, with occasional involvement in wiring and mechanical assembly of more complex units such as enclosures and racks.
  • All work must meet strict quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities as Electrical Technician

  • Manufacture cable assemblies and wiring looms to detailed specifications.
  • Carry out cable dressing, lacing, and termination using appropriate tools and accessories.
  • Assist with wiring of sub-assemblies, panels, and enclosures following work instructions.
  • Ensure all work meets required quality and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Work within ESD-controlled areas in line with procedures.
  • Properly maintain tools and equipment.

About You

  • Previous experience in cable assembly, wiring, or a similar manufacturing role (typically 1–2 years+).
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Understanding of safe working practices, including COSHH and ESD (desirable).
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or equivalent experience is advantageous.
