TeamJobs is recruiting a BIM / CAD Specialist to support major infrastructure projects within a highly regulated aviation environment. This role focuses on the creation and maintenance of BIM-compliant CAD drawings and Revit models, supporting NEC projects across a large operational estate.
You’ll play a key role in developing new designs, updating existing documentation, and ensuring all models align with strict BIM governance and 3D modelling standards. The position requires strong technical judgement, the ability to work independently, and close collaboration with engineering and project teams.
Location & Working Pattern
- Based near Heathrow Airport (Landside access)
- Hybrid working model (typically 2–3 days on site, project dependent)
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday 9am -5pm/8am - 5pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce and update BIM-compliant CAD drawings and Revit models
- Develop new product designs and enhance existing designs using CAD tools
- Create and maintain wiring diagrams, schematics, layouts, and device placements
- Ensure all outputs comply with established BIM standards and governance
- Manage model updates, revisions, and documentation within BIM environments
- Work closely with engineers and project managers to support on-time delivery
- Review designs for cost efficiency, constructability, and reliability
- Manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy and autonomy
- Support or guide junior team members where required
- Participate in project coordination meetings and design reviews.
Requirements:
- Strong BIM capability – this is critical to the role
- Expert Revit proficiency (non-negotiable)
- Proven experience producing 2D and 3D CAD models
- Ability to work within large, multi-disciplinary BIM environments
- Experience producing or updating wiring diagrams, layouts, and schematics
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related technical discipline
- Solid understanding of engineering design processes and standards
- Confident working both independently and as part of a wider team
- High level of judgement, creativity, and problem-solving ability.
Industry Experience (Desirable)
- Experience in any of the following is beneficial but not essential:
- Fire detection systems
- BMS / automation systems
- Building services or MEP environments.
Security clearance is required for this role. Full BPSS Screening (Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
