This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in quotations, estimating, or bid management. You will play a key role in managing the full bid and quotation process, ensuring accurate and commercially competitive submissions are delivered within customer deadlines.
Role
As Bid Manager, you will be responsible for leading the quotation process from initial enquiry through to final submission. You will work closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and commercial teams to ensure all bids are technically compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the full quotation and bid process from enquiry through to submission
- Coordinating workload across costing, estimating, and quotation activities
- Reviewing technical drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and customer requirements
- Producing accurate material, labour, and subcontract costing models
- Identifying commercial and operational risks within enquiries
- Supporting pricing strategies to balance competitiveness and profitability
- Ensuring customer deadlines and turnaround times are achieved
- Maintaining clear and auditable quotation records
- Driving continuous improvement across bid and estimating processes
- Providing leadership and direction across the quotations or estimating team
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a bid management, estimating, quotations, or proposals role
- A strong understanding of material and labour costing
- The ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability
- Experience coordinating workloads or leading teams
- Good working knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Electronics, engineering, or contract manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of subcontract processes and supply chain costing
- Experience working with OEM or regulated industry customers
