Responsibilities as Design Engineer Designing and developing new and existing mechanical products using Solid Works.
Taking projects from concept through prototyping, testing and into production.
Improving existing designs for performance, quality, manufacturability and cost.
Producing 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Working closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality, Purchasing and Project teams to ensure successful product launches.
Supporting engineering change requests and continuous product improvements.
Carrying out design calculations and technical validation where required.
Qualifications and Experience as Design Engineer Previous experience in a Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer position within manufacturing.
Strong Solid Works experience.
Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical engineering background.
Experience designing machined, cast or moulded components.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
