Teamjobs are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical/Electronics Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will apply engineering principles to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable electrical designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
Hybrid: typically 3 days on-site / 2 days remote
Increased on-site presence during key project phases
37 hours/week minimum
Working hours: Mon–Thu 09:00–16:00, Fri 09:00–12:00 (flexibility available)
Pay Rate: around £72 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems, components, and large scale equipment for use in manufacturing or power generation or transmission
- Prepare electrical schematics, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation
- Analyse system requirements and ensure compliance with safety codes and standards
- Perform troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for electrical issues
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems
- Conduct inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities
- Collaborate with mechanical, civil, and software engineers on multidisciplinary projects
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and recommend design enhancements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years electronics design experience in aerospace or other regulated industries
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, power systems, and circuit design
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, ETAP, or similar tools)
- Understanding of relevant electrical codes and standards
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full BPSS Screening (Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening
