Teamforce Labour is seeking an experienced Site Foreman for a long-term civil engineering project in Rossendale, Lancashire. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of supervising site operations on large-scale civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have extensive experience managing site teams, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site operations.
  • Lead and manage site operatives, subcontractors, and plant resources.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
  • Oversee and coordinate:
    • Section 278 (S278) Highway Works
    • Drainage installation and associated infrastructure
    • Kerb laying and paving works
    • Road formation and construction
    • General civil engineering activities
  • Monitor quality, productivity, and progress against programme.
  • Conduct site briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Engineers, and Project Management teams.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Identify and resolve site issues to maintain programme delivery.
  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Have substantial experience working as a Site Foreman on large civil engineering projects.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of:
    • Section 278 Works
    • Drainage
    • Kerb Laying
    • Road Formation
    • General Civil Engineering works
  • Hold a valid SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • Hold a valid CSCS Card.
  • Hold a valid Street Works Supervisor Card.
  • Provide an up-to-date CV demonstrating relevant experience.
  • Possess excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Have a strong commitment to health and safety.

Desirable

  • First Aid at Work qualification.
  • NRSWA qualifications.
  • Experience working on highways and infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
