Teamforce Labour are currently seeking an experienced PTS General Foreman to join a long-term rail infrastructure programme based in London, delivering a range of works across multiple stations. This is a stable, long-term opportunity offering consistent work, strong pipeline continuity, and company van + fuel provided.
ROLE OVERVIEW
As General Foreman, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and supervision of site operations on rail civils and station upgrade works. You will lead site teams, ensure safe delivery of works within programme, and maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and productivity in a live rail environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and coordinate site teams delivering platform refurbishment and extension works
- Plan and allocate daily activities in line with programme requirements
- Ensure all works are delivered safely in accordance with Rail Safety standards and PTS requirements
- Lead daily briefings, toolbox talks, and site inductions
- Ensure full compliance with RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work
- Monitor progress and report updates to Project Manager / Site Manager
- Manage subcontractors and direct labour on site
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping, quality control, and site presentation
- Support logistics, deliveries, and material management
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture at all times
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification – essential
- Proven experience as a General Foreman or Senior Foreman in rail or civils
- Strong background in platform works, rail civils, or station upgrades (preferred)
- Good knowledge of RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work
- Ability to lead and motivate site teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- First Aid at Work (preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
