Teamforce Labour are currently seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer for a long-term project based in Guisborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer to join a busy civil engineering and infrastructure project with ongoing work available.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of setting out, surveying, and quality control on site, ensuring works are delivered accurately and in accordance with project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out works in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Establishing and maintaining site control points and survey information.
- Carrying out topographical and as-built surveys.
- Ensuring works are completed to the correct line, level, and tolerances.
- Producing and maintaining accurate site records and survey data.
- Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and operatives to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues on site.
- Monitoring quality and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Promoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundwork projects.
- Proficient in the use of surveying equipment, including GPS and total stations.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and quality assurance procedures.
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent preferred).
- CSCS Card (essential).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team.
