Teamforce Labour is actively seeking experienced Miners for an immediate start in Fleetwood, Lancashire (FY7). This role is supporting a major and complex emergency infrastructure repair involving a burst water main located approximately 6 metres underground near The Strand and Broadway. The works are being carried out within a deep excavation in a highly congested utility environment and present significant engineering challenges, including:
- Working at depth (6m) within confined space conditions
- Operating in close proximity to live gas and electricity services
- Continuous tidal water ingress, requiring 24-hour pumping operations
- Round-the-clock shift patterns to maintain site safety and progress
This is a technically demanding tunnelling project requiring skilled, safety-conscious miners with experience in timber heading installation and deep excavation works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out hand mining and excavation works as directed
- Assist with the installation of timber headings and ground support systems
- Work safely within confined space environments
- Operate safely in deep excavations with water management systems in place
- Adhere strictly to all health & safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Work effectively as part of a tunnelling team on a 24-hour shift rota
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and site discipline
Requirements:
- Have proven experience working as a Miner within the UK tunnelling industry
- Have experience in timber heading installation
- Hold a valid TSTS (Tunnel Safety Training Scheme)
- Hold valid Confined Space certification (Medium or High Risk preferred)
- Hold valid CSCS Card
- Be able to commit to 24-hour shift patterns where required
- Provide an up-to-date CV
- Provide two recent and relevant references
