Teamforce Labour are recruiting for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major infrastructure scheme in Leiston. This is a permanent, long-term opportunity offering job security and the chance to work on complex civils packages.
Responsibilities
- Working as part of the site engineering team, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out of a range of civil engineering works, ensuring delivery is in line with design, programme, and quality standards.
- Typical works will include groundworks, drainage, foundations, roads, and reinforced concrete structures.
- Setting out for a variety of civils works including drainage, earthworks, roads, and RC structures.
- Interpreting and working from engineering drawings, specifications, and models.
- Establishing and maintaining site control, including surveys and benchmarks.
- Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate site records.
- Liaising with site management, design teams, and subcontractors to coordinate works.
- Identifying and resolving discrepancies between drawings and site conditions.
- Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Supporting QA processes, including inspections and documentation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer within civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of surveying equipment such as GPS and total stations.
- Experience with drainage, earthworks, and structural setting out.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- CSCS card (essential).
- HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering or related field (preferred).
