Role Overview
Location: North Somerset, BS49
Pay: Mon - Fri: £19.50 per hour, Weekends: £21.00 per hour, Bank holidays: £25.50 per hour (holiday pay not included)
Shifts Available
Days: 14:00pm – 21:00pm
Nights: 22:00pm – 09.00am
Contract Type: Zero Hours Contract – offering access to a range of complex care packages
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Female Healthcare Assistant who would be available for bank shifts and primarily called upon for holiday and last‑minute sickness cover. You would be supporting a 13‑year‑old child in their family home.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the child's clinical, personal, and emotional needs, while promoting comfort, dignity and wellbeing within a child‑centred environment.
Essential Experience & Skills
Candidates must have relevant experience in complex care and be confident supporting children with complex clinical needs, including:
2:1 support during the day and 1:1 Support at night.
Experience looking after young children.
Due to the service user’s location, you must be able to drive and hold a full manual driving licence, as the role will involve using the service user’s mobility vehicle.
Experience looking after young children.
Experience in looking after service users with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy.
Extensive experience in manual handling with a hoist.
Experience with medication management
Experience with feed administration via PEG
Epilepsy awareness with buccal midazolam administration
Confident in supporting service users with personal care, medication administration, and community access. Committed to providing person‑centred, compassionate support while promoting dignity, independence, safety, and wellbeing.
Child-Centred Care
Service user is a bright, bubbly, and positive young girl who brings joy to everyone around her. She has an infectious smile, a wonderful sense of humour, and a natural ability to make those around her feel happy and included.She has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and requires the assistance of two trained carers for all mobility, positioning, and transfers to ensure safety and dignity. Isabella requires moving and handling with hoist, PEG care, medication and feed administration via PEG, oral feeding, epilepsy awareness with buccal midazolam administrationand she uses mobility aids at home and in the community.
