Location: UK-based with extensive worldwide travel

Salary: £40,000 base | £65,000+ OTE (including overtime, bonuses, and allowances)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering company specialising in food processing and high-speed production equipment. This position offers the chance to travel worldwide, working hands-on with advanced process machinery across a variety of customer sites.

You will be involved in installation, commissioning, training, maintenance, and service of sophisticated food processing equipment — combining strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge and excellent customer interaction.

When not travelling, around 30% of your time will be spent in the UK preparing, testing, and planning equipment installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, maintain, and service high-speed food processing and packaging machinery across UK and global sites.
  • Conduct on-site training for customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Support production testing, planning, and setup during UK-based periods.
  • Provide exceptional technical support and customer service.
  • Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and quality standards on site.
  • Represent the company professionally when liaising with customers and suppliers.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry (food, packaging, printing, paper, or similar process environment).
  • Strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with welding, fabrication, or fitting experience.
  • Basic electrical knowledge and ability to fault-find across control systems.
  • Proven experience working with capital equipment or high-speed automated machinery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing environments.
  • Flexible and willing to undertake extensive worldwide travel.
  • Commercial awareness with strong influencing ability and customer focus.
  • Full UK driving licence.
