One of the largest, privately owned infrastructure specialists in the UK is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to provide commercial support to project teams, maintaining commercial information and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Along with a highly competitive salary, you will also receive benefits plus training and development plan to keep you skilled-up. The company is based in North Birmingham and will likely involve some travel to the customer sites, but all within 40 miles radius. As Quantity Surveyor, some of your responsibilities will include: Ensuring robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level Ensuring accurate cash flow reporting takes place Carrying out cost management including forecasting Updating the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans Helping to ensure that internal commercial processes are adhered to across the business unit Actively seeking to improve processes and procedures Helping to ensure that any main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that are appropriate for the business, with commercial risks identified Ensuring that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions Building and maintaining good client relationships Contributing towards effective interaction between the commercial team and the operational site teams Working with site management to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery and ensuring that both are kept in line with target We’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor with: Previous experience in the construction industry HND/degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying Familiarity with ICE/NEC forms of contract and knowledge and understanding of Construction Law Previous experience of commercial management and procurement of subcontractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates and accruals calculations The ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis Knowledge and experience in estimation and cost analysis Excellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office To apply for this role as Quantity Surveyor, please click apply online and upload an updated copy of your CV.
