A growing window and door manufacturer based in Mexborough is looking for a reliable and self-motivated Cleaning/Stores Operative. This is a full-time permanent position suited to an individual who is self-motivated, safety conscious and capable of working effectively within a busy manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.

The role will be full time, the normal working days and hours are 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am 4pm including 30 minutes unpaid lunch break. These hours may vary with notice, between 6am and 6pm, as per the needs of the business and additional hours may be required to cover holidays and sickness.

Key responsibilities as Cleaning/Stores Operative:

  • General factory housekeeping, including cleaning of machinery areas and sweeping
  • Yard maintenance and general site upkeep
  • Stock replenishment across production workstations
  • Unloading and organising of deliveries within the stores area
  • Operating a forklift truck to load and unload pallets and stillages
  • Occasional use of a company vehicle to collect and deliver materials/items to site
  • Safe and competent use of power tools, including drills and chop saws.

What we’re looking for in a Cleaning/Stores Operative:

  • Valid Forklift Truck Licence
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Ability to manually lift and carry loads up to 25kg
  • Strong awareness of Health & Safety procedures
  • Ability to manage workload independently following training
  • Positive attitude with a flexible and proactive approach to work
  • Previous manufacturing or factory experience would be advantageous

This is a newly created role within the company and, as the business continues to grow additional responsibilities may be introduced. The successful candidate should therefore be adaptable and willing to contribute across multiple areas of the operation.
