Finance Administrator

Keeping the numbers accurate, suppliers paid correctly and projects supported with reliable cost information makes a real difference in a busy construction business. As a Finance Administrator, you’ll take ownership of essential accounts processes while supporting the Financial Controller and wider team with the information they need to keep things moving. You’ll be joining a growing construction company where your knowledge of CIS, VAT Domestic Reverse Charge and Sage 50 will be put to practical use from day one. This is a varied position combining accounts duties, compliance, reporting and day-to-day office support. What’s in it for you Salaryof up to £42,000 pa A permanent opportunity within a growing construction business A varied position covering accounts, project reporting and office support The chance to work closely with the Financial Controller and Project Managers Responsibility for key processes rather than simply providing transactional support The opportunity to use your construction-sector CIS and VAT knowledge every day A broad remit giving you visibility across projects, suppliers and internal teams Your responsibilities as Finance Administrator Manage sales and purchase ledgers, entering invoices into Sage 50 and accurately matching them against purchase orders Check subcontractor documentation and work with external accountants on HMRC CIS verification requirements Apply VAT Domestic Reverse Charge requirements correctly across relevant transactions Prepare accurate project cost reports and information for Project Managers Take ownership of credit control and complete monthly company credit card reconciliations Raise and update purchase orders, resolve invoice queries, maintain filing systems and provide day-to-day office support What we’re looking for in a Finance Administrator Previous accounts experience gained specifically within a construction company Strong practical knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) and VAT Domestic Reverse Charge Hands-on experience using Sage 50 Accounts Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Experience managing ledgers, reconciliations, purchase orders and credit control If you know construction accounts, understand CIS and VAT Domestic Reverse Charge, and can confidently work with Sage 50, this could be an excellent next move.
