A highly regarded, Ofsted Outstanding secondary academy in London is seeking an English Teacher to join their team from September 2026. The role is based in Newham, and you must be able to commute to East London.

You will be joining one of the strongest English departments in the country with a large team of teachers working collaboratively in a calm, scholarly and purposeful environment where student outcomes are consistently strong.

As the English Teacher you will:

  • Teach English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering AQA GCSE English Language and English Literature.
  • Contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching where applicable, though this is desirable rather than essential.

We are looking for an English Teacher with:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - ECTs and experienced teachers both welcome
  • A degree related to English
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine love of English
  • Comfortable in a high-expectations, high-support environment
