Are you a Financial Controller with construction experience (essential), ready to take full ownership of a finance function and play a key role in shaping the future of a growing business? Working closely with the Managing Director, you'll have the autonomy to improve processes, strengthen controls and provide the financial intelligence that drives better business decisions.

Your responsibilities as Financial Controller:

  • Produce monthly management accounts with meaningful analysis and performance commentary
  • Lead P&L, balance sheet and cash flow management across the business
  • Oversee project costing, WIP reporting, margin analysis and profitability reviews
  • Partner with project and commercial teams to identify financial risks and opportunities early
  • Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, retentions and staged payment processes
  • Improve financial controls, systems and reporting processes while overseeing day-to-day finance operations

What we're looking for in a Financial Controller:

  • Previous experience within a senior finance role in an SME environment
  • Construction, fit-out, joinery or project-based accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition and CIS requirements
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or qualified by experience with a strong track record
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using SME finance systems such as Sage, Xero or similar
