At Team Support we are looking for an experienced HGV 2 Driver Loader to join our team working in refuse collection. This role starts as a temporary contract with the possibility of extension.
As an HGV/LGV Class 2 Refuse Driver Loader you will lead a team of loaders, ensuring their health and safety and assisting with bin loading when necessary. You will also be responsible for conducting vehicle checks on refuse lorries.
Duties:
- Carry out refuse & recycling collections daily with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job.
- Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal.
- Use of in-cab technology/mobile devices as directed by the Contract.
- Complete relevant paperwork in real time.
- Responsible for the daily inspection and reporting of machinery, before and after usage, including vehicles.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
- Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly members of the public and other motor users.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required by company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies while driving.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company positively at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations related to commercial driving.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
