Role Overview: The Food Production Operative supports the production of protein powders and related powdered supplement products. The role involves precise weighing of ingredients, operating blending equipment, ensuring correct flavour inclusion, and maintaining strict hygiene and allergen controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately weigh protein bases, flavour systems, sweeteners and functional ingredients according to batch sheets
  • Verify ingredient codes and lot numbers before use
  • Ensure raw materials are handled and stored correctly
  • Monitor blending times and mixing specifications, ensure uniform consistency, texture and flavour distribution, identify and report blending inconsistencies, assist with small trial batches during new product development
  • Support filling of protein powder tubs and pouches, ensure accurate fill weights, check seal integrity and packaging quality, apply correct batch coding and labelling, maintain high presentation standards
  • Follow GMP, HACCP and food safety procedures, complete batch production records accurately, conduct in-process checks (weight, appearance, consistency), report deviations or contamination risks immediately, maintain full traceability documentation, follow strict hygiene protocols, wear required PPE at all times, maintain clean areas, conduct cleaning and sanitation between flavour or allergen changeovers, comply with health & safety standards

  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow precise written batch instructions
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Strong understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards
  • Experience under GMP or HACCP systems
  • Experience working with protein powders or powdered supplements
  • Understanding of allergen management
  • Experience operating blending or filling machinery
  • Food hygiene certification
