Working at our clients facility in the south side of Aberdeen. Likely to be for around 6 months, 2-3 days per week.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trainer and Competency Assessor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs, as well as assessing the competencies of employees to ensure they meet organizational standards. This role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt training methods to diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training Design and Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging training programs that meet the needs of the organization. Utilize various training methods, including workshops, e-learning, and on-the-job training.
  • Competency Assessment: Conduct assessments to evaluate employees' skills and competencies. Provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Train the Trainer: Develop and implement "Train the Trainer" programs to equip internal trainers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively deliver training sessions.
  • Curriculum Development: Create and update training materials and curricula to ensure they are current and relevant.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on training outcomes and employee performance. Use data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and HR to identify training needs and develop strategies to address them.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in training and development. Implement innovative approaches to enhance training effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Human Resources, or a related field. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Proven experience as a Trainer and Competency Assessor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to design and deliver training programs using various formats.
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Training and Development (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
  • Experience with e-learning platforms and digital training tools.
  • Knowledge of competency frameworks and assessment techniques.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with occasional travel to other locations for training sessions.
