Role and Responsibilities
The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of general accounting support tasks within the Accounting Department. The ideal candidate will be organized and perform all duties with a high attention to detail while following company procedures. This position requires a satisfactory background and credit check.
- Perform basic office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.
- Respond timely and appropriately with Vendors, Customers, and Internal Departments.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
- Update invoices and maintain accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions.
- Maintaining a database, ensuring that records are complete and current.
- Prepare checks, electronic payments, and deposits.
- Assist accounting staff with any tasks conducted within the Accounting Department.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Preferred - 2 Year Associate Degree in Accounting.
- Will consider experience in lieu of associate degree.
Preferred Skills
- General understanding of accounting principles.
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
