Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and assembly of racecars, including chassis setup, subassemblies, and suspension components, under the direction of the R&D Leader.
- Ensure all build specifications are strictly followed, delivering a final product that meets high standards of quality and safety.
- Assist the R&D Leader with pre-assembly tasks including the fitment of test and development parts, providing detailed feedback and documentation on potential improvements and issues.
- Serve as lead mechanic during private team tests, tire tests, manufacturer evaluations, straight-line tests, marketing events, and select race events as required.
- Work efficiently to meet critical build deadlines and maintain overall project timelines.
- Mentor junior mechanics, promoting quality control and fostering a positive, growth-oriented learning environment.
- Actively contribute to the improvement of processes, materials, equipment, personnel, and technical knowledge in collaboration with the R&D Leader.
- Train team members on both shop and track-based equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Verify that all checklists are accurately completed and documented.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace both in the shop and at the racetrack, working closely with the R&D Leader to uphold professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will have at minimum of a high school diploma.
- Minimum 10 years technical experience in professional motorsport or related field.
- Motorsports technician / crew chief background.
- IndyCar, NASCAR, IMSA, WEC or F1 championships preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of Professional motorsports track experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement required.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills required.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.
- Excellent mentoring skills, with a passion for developing team members is required.
Desired / Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Suite Excel experience preferred.
- SharePoint experience preferred.
- Outlook experience preferred.
- Experience mentoring technicians.
