About the role

Our Copywriters support TEAM LEWIS in delivering high-quality content for a portfolio of B2B and technology clients.

The work spans across thought leadership, messaging, digital marketing copy, research-led content, corporate reporting and sales enablement.

Many assignments involve complex or highly technical subject matter, so the successful freelancer will be confident researching unfamiliar topics, interviewing senior stakeholders and subject-matter experts, interpreting data and turning technical information into clear, engaging narratives.

Our client portfolio covers sectors including

  • Data centres and digital infrastructure
  • Energy, grid and power
  • Electric vehicles and energy supply
  • Cybersecurity and networking
  • Industrial engineering and mechanical seals
  • Carbon capture, utilisation and storage
  • AI tools and services
  • Sustainability and environmental reporting

We recognise that individual copywriters will bring different areas of expertise.

You do not need to meet every requirement or have experience across every sector or deliverable.

We are happy to consider freelancers who meet approximately 60% of the brief and combine their skills with another writer who offers complementary experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Thought leadership and editorial content
  • Lead the ideation, research and drafting of thought leadership articles, bylines, blogs and other long-form content
  • Facilitate or contribute to content workshops to identify themes, perspectives and campaign ideas
  • Interview senior stakeholders, technical specialists and subject-matter experts
  • Transform complex technical or industry information into engaging, authoritative and accessible copy
  • Develop content aligned with clients’ strategic priorities, messaging and tone of voice
  • Draft supporting social posts, social card copy and email content
  • Research reports and white papers
  • Research, structure and draft reports, white papers, e Books and other research-led content
  • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify relevant insights and compelling narratives
  • Conduct stakeholder and expert interviews to gather evidence, viewpoints and supporting detail
  • Distil complex findings into clear, credible and audience-appropriate content
  • Work collaboratively with strategy, design and account teams from initial concept through to final delivery
  • Brand, messaging and digital copy
  • Develop or refine brand, product and campaign messaging
  • Draft website, microsite, portal and landing-page copy based on agreed messaging frameworks
  • Create social media, email and campaign copy for different audiences and stages of the customer journey
  • Adapt copy for different formats while maintaining consistency of message, tone and terminology
  • Understand complex products, tools and services and communicate their benefits clearly
  • Corporate and sustainability reporting
  • Research and draft corporate reports, including gender pay gap and sustainability reports
  • Conduct interviews with senior leaders and internal stakeholders
  • Review and interpret environmental, workforce and performance data
  • Develop environmental data messaging and positioning
  • Turn technical, regulatory or data-led information into accurate and engaging narratives
  • Sales enablement content
  • Develop sales playbooks, e Books, presentations, brochures and product or industry communications
  • Facilitate or participate in workshops to understand products, audiences and sales priorities
  • Translate technical product information into clear customer benefits and persuasive sales narratives
  • Create structured content that enables sales teams to communicate consistently and confidently
  • Work with subject-matter experts to validate technical accuracy
  • Client and agency collaboration
  • Build a strong understanding of each client’s business, sector, audiences and communication priorities
  • Act as a trusted content specialist, offering editorial advice and creative recommendations
  • Work closely with account, strategy, creative, design, digital and social teams
  • Manage feedback from multiple stakeholders and respond constructively to creative direction
  • Deliver accurate, thoroughly researched work to agreed deadlines
  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure quality, consistency and attention to detail

About you

You may be a versatile senior copywriter or a specialist in one or more of the following areas:

  • Energy, engineering or industrial sectors

  • Corporate and sustainability reporting
  • Sales enablement and product content
  • Desired skills and experience
  • Strong portfolio of B2B, corporate or technical copywriting
  • Proven ability to write and edit long-form and short-form digital and print content
  • Excellent research, writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Experience interviewing senior stakeholders and subject-matter experts
  • Ability to understand technical products, services and industry issues quickly
  • Confidence interpreting research and data and turning findings into engaging narratives
  • Experience working with messaging frameworks and brand tone-of-voice guidelines
  • Ability to develop ideas as well as execute against an existing brief
  • Strong attention to detail, including factual and technical accuracy
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines
  • Collaborative approach and confidence working with clients and multidisciplinary agency teams
