CNC Turning Programmer / Setter / Operator - Night Shift
Location: Ferndown
Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 8:30pm - 7:00am, Monday to Thursday

TeamJobs are working with a leading precision engineering business in Ferndown, supplying high-quality components to aerospace, defence, and other technical sectors. Due to growth, they are seeking an experienced CNC Turning Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their night shift team.
The Role
You will program, set, and operate Mazak CNC turning centres to produce precision components to tight tolerances. Responsibilities include program creation, machine setup, prove-out, production running, and quality checks.
Key Duties
- Program using Mazatrol, SmoothX/SmoothG or ISO G-code
- Set and operate Mazak lathes (Quick Turn / Nexus / Smooth / Integrex)
- Set tooling, offsets, work holding and fixtures
- Run production, adjust wear offsets, change inserts, make minor edits
- Perform first-off and in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, gauges etc.
- Maintain quality documentation and troubleshoot machining issues
- Follow HSE and 5S standards, including routine maintenance
What You Need
- 3-5+ years CNC turning experience
- Confident Mazak programming, setting, and operating
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD T
- Strong understanding of tooling, speeds/feeds and turning processes
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Integrex / live tooling experience
- CAM knowledge (e.g. Mastercam)
- Engineering apprenticeship or Level 3/4 qualification
