TeamJobs is recruiting an experienced Advanced Electrical Engineer (Electronics) to support the design and development of advanced electronic controllers used within Environmental Control Systems and Life Support Systems for aerospace applications. You will join a multidisciplinary Electronic Controllers team, responsible for delivering high-integrity hardware integrated with specialised software to meet stringent aerospace and safety requirements. The successful candidate will have strong analogue and digital circuit design experience, ideally gained within aerospace or another highly regulated industry.
Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Employment Type: Contract (with potential for extension)
Work Model: Hybrid - typically 3 days on-site and 2 days remote, with periods of increased on-site presence depending on project phase.
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 9am-4pm and finish at 12pm on Friday.
Pay rate: around Β£72 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the full end-to-end electronics design lifecycle, from concept through production and in-service support.
- Define and document electronics requirements, design plans, and technical specifications.
- Design analogue and digital circuits, progressing concepts through to PCB layouts and full manufacturing drawing packs.
- Produce all required design, verification, and test documentation to support certification and manufacture.
- Participate in design reviews, clearly presenting technical content to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with relevant quality processes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams and external suppliers to support new product introduction, including PCB build, assembly, testing, and system integration.
- Provide expert technical support for manufacturing issues and in-service investigations across the product range.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' electronics design experience within aerospace or another highly regulated industry (e.g. nuclear, rail).
- Strong understanding of electronics design principles and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in low-power digital circuit design.
- Solid understanding of low-frequency analogue interface design.
- Experience using industry-standard ECAD tools (Mentor Graphics preferred).
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) methodologies.
- Familiarity with EMC design and qualification requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail.
